UTM Links

Use this database to track all your UTM links. UTM stands for “Urchin Tracking Parameters”. They’re little pieces of information that can be added to URLs to see where traffic comes from. Create and use a new UTM for every new campaign, press release or piece of content you want to track.

Parameter Types

🔗 URL → Your domain

📲 Source → Identify a search engine or other sources. / ih newsletter producthunt

📥 Medium → Identify the medium such as email or cost-per-click / cpc banner referral

🧪 Content → Good for A/B testing. Differentiate links that point to the same URL / logo text

🔑 Term → Which keywords are associated with this ad / pricing feature

🦄 Campaign → Campaign, product, promo code or slogan / early-adopters

UTMs

UTM Source

utm_source: The name of the campaign source where you plan to share the link. Such as the name of your newsletter or the name of the social network you’re doing a campaign on.

The utm_source parameter is mandatory and required. Make sure to use it in all UTM tagged links.

UTM Medium

utm_medium: The name of the channel where the link is placed. Such as email or paid social media posts.
